Exam season is fast approaching for the pupils in our schools in Burkina Faso.
For students everywhere this can be a stressful time of year; with the prospect of long hours spent poring over revision. For many preparing for exams in the rural schools we support, ‘burning the midnight oil’ before that vital exam can however, mean exactly that, as schools and homes have no access to electricity.
In response, we are seeking to install solar panels in rural classrooms across the country, providing a cheap, reliable and environmentally friendly source of light for schools. Not only can these then be used for pupils to study in the evenings., but many are also being transformed into centres for adult evening classes, teaching everything from languages to business skills.
