The lack of basic hygiene facilities is difficult at any time, but at a health clinic it can be particularly dangerous, with the risks of cross infection and disease increasing for often already ill and vulnerable people.
The completion of new latrines and washing facilities at our Bethanie health clinic has therefore been particularly welcomed, both by our clinical team and by the patients.
Bulit with donations from the UK, the facilities now offer patients, staff and visitors hygienic toilet and washing facilities. Solar power also allows lighting to make them safe to use, day or night.
