With funding now in place for the initial phase of our micro credit programme, the first loans are now being granted to families in rural Burkina Faso.

The scheme is designed to support the setiing up of small busineses relating to agriculture, the principal occupation for people in the communities where we work.  With many farmers experiencing a poor harvest and months of food shortages in 2018, the need to offer alternative ways of earning a living in communities entirely dependent on good rains to grow food for their families has been brought into even sharper focus.

As the project develops, we will share stories of what the beneficiaries of the first loans have been able to achieve.  Watch this space!
