Kevin Lawrence, the charity’s Executive Officer, is about to visit our projects and partners in Burkina Faso.  Here he reflects on preparing to go.

‘This time next week, I hope to be sitting under a shady tree in 40 degree heat; talking to local communities about their plans and ideas and finding out, first hand, the difference the work of Transform Burkina is making.

I am really looking forward to going for a whole host of reasons (and not just because of the temperature differential compared with the UK).

It will, I know, be so encouraging to see the difference that our support makes.  We aim to tackle poverty ‘one life at a time’ and seeing the way that individual’s lives have been changed through our education, water and health projects is always an inspiration.

It will, I know, be exciting to begin to plan future work with our partners and there are some new projects and ideas that I am looking forward to hearing more about.  Particularly look out for news on micro credit.

It will, I know, be wonderful to receive the welcome and hospitality that Burkina Faso, the land of upright men, has to offer; as well as catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

I am also looking forward to sharing more on my return, both on this site and through our newsletter, due out at the end of March.’
