She may be a widow in her 80’s, but Idambie Kailou is still active and busy in the home she shares with the family of her son and daughter in law.
The extended family live in the Zongo district of Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou, close to our Bethanie medical centre. A few years ago Idambie began to suffer from increasingly severe and debilitating headaches and came, with her daughter in law, to the medical centre for help. After a consultation and tests, diabetes was diagnosed and a treatment regime devised, which has seen a dramatic improvement in Idambie’s condition.
Idambie (pictured second left) now 82, visits the clinic quarterly for check ups to monitor her condition and told us ‘ I am sincerely grateful for the services that the Bethanie Medical Centre offers’.
