In a few short months the land in this picture will become part of a busy, growing rural primary school, thanks to the support of UK donors.

Work at Soulyale School, where pupil numbers are set to double over the next few years is already underway with the construction of the first teachers’ house and installation of solar panels on some of the existing classrooms.

The next phase of building work, supported by UK trusts and foundations, as well as individuals, will involve the completion of a further teachers’ house, a new classroom and the first of much needed toilets and washing facilities for the pupils.

This is part of a larger, multi year programme to transform this school into one of the best rural primary schools in Burkina Faso.
